It's common practice for a lot of Bride's to want to kick up their exercise and diet plans in the months and yes, days, leading to their long walk down the aisle. They want to show tones armed, a tight tummy and a tush to die for... and who can blame them? These will, afterall, be some of the most viewed pictures of you for all time.
So, let's consider the weighty issue. Is it better to lose the weight to fit into the gown OR just buy the gown to fit you?
I recently was watching Bride Wars and there's an interesting quote repeated throughout the flick "You don't alter a Vera to fit you. You alter yourself to fit Vera (Wang)." I have to admit this sort of sent me over the edge. Yes, Vera Wang gowns are stunning and yes they do fit a bit small but what's the hang up of ordering the gown in one size larger. It's a wedding gown - it's sizing it already going to be crazy and sadly make you feel bigger than you are but why do you need to care?
Alright, I know this is a rant but the simple matter here is HEALTH. If you weigh 130 pounds and are healthy... your beautiful. If you weigh 130 pounds and are sick... regardless of the outside, the inside is still sick and UNHEALTHY.
Now, wouldn't you rather be 130 pounds and healthy? Personally, I haven't been 130 lbs in many many moons but overall... I'm healthy! Regardless of the size of cloth draped around my body, I care that the body inside of it is HEALTHY and HAPPY.
I'm not saying not to tone or train. I'm just saying that maybe we, as women and men, should consider our health over the need to fit a gown/tux.
Here's to a happy & HEALTHY new year!
