Natural History Meets Indian Glam ~ Meanu & Sid's Wedding Week
For the last year I have had the pleasure of planning the nuptials of a very modern Indian couple. The Bride & Groom are both very "new school" and wanted an affair representative of their backgrounds but still modern, unique and very very beautiful.
I'm proud to say that when I took my "vision" of 'Natural History Meets Indian Glam' to the couple, and then to the decorating team it was met with enthusiasm and genuine excitement at the prospect!
The couple were married on Sunday, June 22 in Victoria, BC at a traditional Sikh ceremony and while I planned the affair I was unable to actually attend.
They then returned to Toronto for their reception on Saturday, June 28th, at the Liberty Grand.
The sumptious (& spicy) Indian menu featured a mango & cherry salad, pumpkin & cumin soup and a choice of tandoori chicken & marinated lamb or garam masala veg options and finished with a beautiful pistachio kulfi in a brandy snap basket with fresh berries. A meal fit for an Indian King & his Queen.
Small touches truly made this wedding special tho - the bride wore a teal custom designed modern 'mermaid' lengha, the Groom in a very beautiful grey silk pinstripe suit.
The guests signed bottles of Moet champagne for the couple's 1st, 5th and 10th wedding anniversary in gold ink.
A slideshow was shown during dinner of photographs from the Victoria celebrations for those who could not attend and was met with lots of Oooh's & Ahhhh's from the guests.
But, the perfect finishing touch was a cymbidium orchid bloom and small gold box with a delicate black ribbon with a perfect Teuscher champagne truffle delicately placed on each napkin for a thank you to their guests for taking part in their 'natural history meets indian glam' celebration.
Congratulations Meanu & Sid on not one, but 2 (well really a weeks worth) of beautiful wedding events and bliss!
