Destination Divas

Have you seen the forecast for Toronto lately? Brrrrr... darn cold is that forecast which always puts me in the mood to get away somewhere else! At this weekend's Wedding Co Bridal Show at The Carlu I was blessed to find many brides & grooms thinking of just that - jetting away to sunnier skies and scenic locales!

So, I thought I'd offer up some of my favourite destinations and why:

1) Scotland - alright I'm biased with a second company here but it's romantic and stunning... rolling hills of green, beautiful flowers, incredible architecture, scotch food, brogue accents, castles, history.... *sigh*

2) Italy - can you say tuscany? vineyard? romance? The food is incredible! The people soooo friendly! You'll love this destination for it's charm and ambience!

3) Mexico - often given a bad rap by the media, Mexico is a gem of a wedding locale from small resorts with intimate service to full service big bertha's you can find something for everyone here!

4) Australia - Who doesn't want to say 'I Do' downunder? The majesty of Sydney's Opera House, the great accents (yeah I'm vocally motivated I guess) and the glory of an Australian sunset. A beautiful locale for a special couple.

5) Goa, India - Unique, slightly tourist-filled now, but still charming in it's own way. Tends to be inexpensive for food and accomodations and the locals are wonderfully interesting.

6) Bora Bora - Off the beaten path and sheer romance - overwater bungalows spell glamour for the couple that wants to jet away to a special and memorable locale.

7) Bahamas - luxury, island style! Beautiful powdery beaches, hospitable service, great resorts. Not cheap but well worth it for the comfort and style.

8) Banff, Canada - Stunning! Rocky Mountains! Peaks, valleys, glaciers. Literally get married on the top of the mountain to sing your praises a la 'Sound of Music'!

9) Niagara, Ontario - Destination Ontario to be sure but you can travel the world and not find a location as beautiful or as quaint as this. Fresh vineyards, charming orchards and a culinary appetite for food and wine... this will win over even the toughest of critics!

10) Paris, France - Everyone's favourite locale for romance! While not the easiest place to marry it certainly comes with a romance factor. Local manors and chateaus are perfect for intimate weddings and can be a focal point for your I Do's.
